£63m striker Arsenal want to buy has just handed in a transfer request, he wants a new club - Romano

Although Arsenal have been fairly quiet in the transfer market this summer, it seems as if it’s now just a case of adding the final couple of pieces for Mikel Arteta.

Riccardo Calafiori is already through the door, beginning to adapt to things in N5, hoping he can contribute in the early weeks of the season.

Mikel Merino is convinced he’s joining Arsenal too, a transfer that will seemingly be announced some time next week.

Both signings are designed to improve Arteta’s squad depth, which perhaps hindered the Spaniard in his attempts to beat Pep Guardiola to the Premier League title last term

That being said, both will also spend a lot of time in Arsenal’s starting side, with Arteta possessing an extremely competitive squad for the new season.

But with Eddie Nketiah growing closer to leaving Arsenal, and perhaps with Reiss Nelson destined to do the same, the Gunners could still be lining up a surprise move.

Arsenal fans may still get the superstar forward they’ve been waiting for.

Arsenal target Victor Osimhen has now officially asked to leave Napoli

Recent reports from Italy suggest that Arsenal are still ‘pushing hard’ to sign Victor Osimhen, who now looks almost certain to leave Napoli.

The Italian side played their first competitive game of the season against Modena in the Coppa Italia on Saturday, winning the games on penalties.

And one week before the Serie A begins, Osimhen was nowhere to be seen – excluded from Antonio Conte’s squad.

Following the game, Napoli director Giovanni Manna confirmed that Osimhen had now asked to leave the club – quotes Fabrizio Romano shared on X.

Manna said that the ‘situation is clear’ and suggested that a solution will be found in the next 20 days.

He said: “Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go”.

“The situation is clear, there were already chances for his exit last summer… Victor wants to leave”.

“We will see in the next 20 days.”

It was recently reported that Arsenal would be willing to pay £63m for Osimhen – a price tag that probably wouldn’t satisfy Napoli’s requests.

But it’s certainly going to be an interesting saga for Arsenal fans to follow, and it now seems fairly clear that Osimhen will not stay in Italy beyond August.
