Aston Villa make £25m bid for Semih Kilicsoy

According to Gune Bakis, Aston Villa have made an improved £25m bid for Bestiktas’ teenage striker Semih Kilicsoy.

The 18-year-old, who was part of Turkey’s Euro 2024 squad, netted 12 times whilst laying on three assists last term.

At youth level, Kilicsoy has struck 42 times in 64 outings for the under-19s, so evidently, he’s a clinical goalscorer.

Villa are now keen to land his signature this summer and fend off interest from Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Semih Kilicsoy could replace Jhon Duran

Aston Villa have been trying to move on Jhon Duran this summer and are hopeful of receiving a fee in excess of £25m, with AC Milan and West Ham United credited with an interest.

To replace Duran, it’s thought Kilicsoy is the ideal backup to Ollie Watkins, who will need to be rested at times next season with European football commitments to contend with.

Further, aged only 18, the teenage striker who has been likened to Sergio Aguero has the promise to become Watkins’ successor in the future.

Villa are planning for now and the long-term benefit of the club this summer transfer window.
