Leeds United have had a rather busy window up until this point when it comes to outgoings, with incomings now starting to ramp up.

Georginio Rutter sealed a move to Brighton for £40 million, Crysenscio Summerville sealed his move to West Ham and Archie Gray swapped Leeds for Tottenham, as the three headline departures.

And, there could yet be more movement as Wilfried Gnonto is supposedly pushing to leave Leeds.

However, things are also picking up in terms of potential signings as Ao Tanaka is flying to England to complete his move from Germany.

It doesn’t appear as if the Whites’ summer transfer window business will end there though as Graham Smyth provided a big update…

49ers now want two more signings for Leeds United after Ao Tanaka

Graham Smyth took to his personal Twitter account to share the news that Ao Tanaka is flying in for a medical, as well as providing an update on the club’s remaining plans.

Jayden Bogle, Sam Byram and Junior Firpo are the only recognised full-backs at Leeds currently, so a move for a right or a left-back has to be top priority.

In terms of any other potential signings, there could be room for another central midfielder as it’s another area that Daniel Farke only has three options in, with Tanaka potentially becoming a fourth.

Who else could Leeds be trying to sign?

Leeds have been locked in a transfer tussle over Gus Hamer as a potential option in the middle of midfield, but it looks as if a deal will be difficult.

Another option in midfield is Philip Billing from Bournemouth, who Leeds have been credited with an interest in.

Max Aarons is another name that’s floated around with Leeds but nothing has developed so far.

It’s good to see that Leeds are at least looking in the right areas as the transfer window comes to a close, but nothing appears close other than the Tanaka move at this moment.

Although, one exciting thing is the fact that Leeds can spend big after signing their huge EFL TV deal recently.
