West Ham have been one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer window this time around.
The east London outfit have made a number of high-profile signings such as Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo and Crysencio Summerville.
Excitingly, West Ham aren’t finished there.
Indeed, according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, the Hammers are still in the market for another signing with PSG’s Carlos Soler said to be a player they are seriously keen on.
West Ham are serious about signing Carlos Soler
Jones shared what he knows about the £17m man.
“West Ham, their business is not done yet, they’re not finished,” Jones said.
“They are currently looking into signing PSG’s Carlos Soler, West Ham are reasonably serious about this from what I understand. West Ham are seriously looking at that one as they continue to recruit ahead of the new season.”
West Ham don’t need Carlos Soler
Carlos Soler is a fantastic footballer, but he’s not the type of player West Ham need.
The Hammers already have tons of midfield options.
Edson Alvarez, Guido Rodriguez, Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse are all solid midfield options, and adding another new player to that mix could be overkill.
West Ham have done a lot of business this summer, and it may be time for the spending to now wind down and the focus to switch solely to the football.
Soler is a brilliant player, and if he did join West Ham, they’d be getting a very accomplished footballer, but there’s a big argument to make that this isn’t the most necessary of signings.
West Ham may be wise to swerve this one as it would unbalance the composition of the squad.
