Arsenal remain active in this summer’s transfer window, but it looks like they already have plans for 2025 as well.
The Gunners have turned David Raya’s loan into a permanent deal and brought in Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna in this window.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal have also agreed a fee for Mikel Merino with Real Sociedad, so the Spaniard is likely to be the next one to come in this summer.
Arsenal fans are hoping for more in this window, but if Football Transfers are to be believed, they have already made a decision for next year.
Arsenal will release Thomas Partey in 2025
Arsenal signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020.
The Ghana international is a phenomenal player. He is absolutely world-class, but injuries have really troubled him at the Emirates over the years.
Reports revealed not too long ago that Arteta was tired of Partey’s injuries and was ready to sell him, but that looks unlikely at this stage of the window.
Partey is set to stay at Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners have now made a decision on his future beyond the end of this season.
Football Transfers have claimed that Arsenal have made up their mind that they will not offer Partey a new contract to stay at the club.
The midfielder’s current deal runs out in July next year, which means Arsenal will release him before the start of the 2025/26 season.
As for now, Partey, branded as an ‘unbelievable’ player by Yaya Toure on talkSPORT, will stay and help Arsenal achieve their objectives this term.

Partey could suddenly become a rotation player this season
Arsenal begin their Premier League season with a game against Wolves, and there is a chance Partey will be handed a start in the middle of the park.
The Ghana international is more than capable of doing a job, and he could form a tremendous partnership alongside Declan Rice in midfield.
However, even if Partey starts against Wolves, he could soon be dropped to the bench because of the imminent arrival of Merino.
Arsenal are expected to use a midfield trio of Rice, Merino and Odegaard if they can sign the Spanish midfielder from Real Sociedad in the coming days.
That’s a shame for Partey, but he should be ready to play whenever he is called upon as he can still be a very important player for the Gunners.
