Aston Villa have made eight additions so far this summer as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of a Champions League campaign.
The Villans have enjoyed a really productive window having outlaid £150m, with Amadou Onana perhaps the statement addition.
Though, they aren’t resting on their laurels as Unai Emery is still eager to bring in another attacker to support Ollie Watkins.
One of their rumoured targets has just been subjected to a substantial bid from another Premier League club.

Chelsea submit bid for Joao Felix
Aston Villa have been linked with Joao Felix for most of the summer transfer window with Unai Emery really pushing to bring him to Villa Park.
The Atletico Madrid playmaker, who has been labelled ‘world class’ (Sky Sports), is keen to leave the La Liga outfit after his relationship with Diego Simeone broke down.
Though, despite Villa’s interest, Felix wants to join Chelsea and now they have just lodged a substantial bid for his signature.
According to O Jogo, The Blues have submitted a £55.5m bid for the Portugal international which may well satisfy Atleti’s demands.
Aston Villa should focus on Romelu Lukaku
With Felix likely to join Chelsea, Aston Villa should instead focus their attempts on signing their alternative target Romelu Lukaku.
Villa are willing to meet Lukaku’s price tag, though, they still need to convince him to join them over Napoli, who are also showing an interest.
If they were to land the Belgium international, he’d provide much-needed Champions League experience to the squad – which is lacking at the moment.
Plus, Lukaku is a different profile to Ollie Watkins, so it’d provide the squad with more balance.
