Arsenal’s summer of spending could be soon to really take off over the coming days after weeks of waiting.
Mikel Arteta has been forced to be the most patient man in north London recently with talks ongoing to secure his top target of the summer.
The Gunners are now closing in on their first major addition with Riccardo Calafiori now set to undergo his Arsenal medical.
Focus may now be turning on to other potential targets this summer with the Italian looking set to become an Arsenal player.

Arsenal request more information on Nico Williams alternative
This summer, Arsenal have looked at adding to their frontline as they aim to finally leapfrog Manchester City at the top of the table.
One name which Arsenal are said to be interested in is Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao following his impressive Euro 2024.
However, this is a player truly in high demand this summer with the likes of Barcelona also keen to sign the Spanish winger.
And with Barcelona interested, it has been claimed Williams’ agent has informed his agent to stop any talks with English sides.

According to TuttoJuve, Arsenal have now set their sights on Federico Chiesa with his Juventus future in doubt.
It has even been claimed that the Gunners have made contact for more information on the Italian’s status.
Chiesa’s future in Turin is under real scrutiny following the arrival of new manager Thiago Motta.
The winger is now playing into the final 12 months of his deal with the Old Lady with no new deal currently on the table.
Tottenham also linked with Federico Chiesa
An interesting potential transfer saga is beginning to unfold with Chiesa possibly on the move over the coming weeks.
The report claims Tottenham are interested in the 26-year-old, too, alongside their London rivals Chelsea.
However, reliable Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold has claimed Tottenham are not in the running for Chiesa this summer.
