West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy on the transfer front in the coming weeks as they look to strengthen their respective squads.
The Hammers have been fairly busy to date, with three new signings over the line, while Spurs have brought one new player in.
Both West Ham and Tottenham have been linked with defensive reinforcements this summer, including a player on the books at a London rival.
Now, the Hammers are reported to have rekindled their interest in said player after several rejections elsewhere.

West Ham rekindle interest in Tottenham target Trevoh Chalobah
The player in question is Trevoh Chalobah, who is currently out of favour at Chelsea and seems likely to move away this summer.
Chalobah has been linked with a move to Tottenham recently. They currently don’t have many senior options at centre-back.
Meanwhile speculation involving the defender and West Ham was doing the rounds earlier this year.
More recently, it was reported that Chalobah – who Rio Ferdinand has deemed “unbelievable” – was offered to the Hammers.
Now, according to a report from Italy, it seems like the interest is mutual once again.
Tuttojuve have reported that West Ham could make a move for Chalobah in wake of Jean-Clair Todibo snubbing a move to east London.
The English defender was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, which suggests he is being made available for a transfer.
Chalobah has a lot to offer West Ham and Tottenham
Both West Ham and Tottenham could do with bolstering their defensive ranks further this summer, and Chalobah would be a good shout for both clubs.
The 6ft 3in ace, who reportedly has a £30million price tag, is talented, yet to hit his prime as a defender, and has Premier League and Champions League experience.
Chalobah also featured prominently in the second half of last season after a long injury layoff, starting many of his club’s Premier League games from March onwards.
This should allay any fears regarding the player’s fitness and it would not be surprising to see West Ham, Tottenham or any other suitors intensifying their interest in the coming weeks.
