Tottenham Hotspur are still in search of making their big money move this summer having only signed Archie Gray, to date.
Ange Postecoglou will be pleased with what he has seen from Gray in the opening two friendlies which Tottenham have played.
The midfielder has shown his versatility by playing at centre-back in both games and excelling alongside his new teammates.
Postecoglou will also be pleased with the work done by Daniel Levy in seeing players depart already this summer with seven players now off the books.
However, the Australian will likely wanted to have seen more than just one permanent signing come through the door in north London.
After all, there is one target who they have been working on since February…

Tottenham have been working on £60m target since February
Over recent transfer windows, Tottenham have now shied away from spending in excess of £50m on players they really like.
Back in 2022, Spurs forked out around £60m for Richarlison who made the move to north London from Everton.
And last summer, Postecoglou got his man when Tottenham paid Nottingham Forest in the region of £47.5m for Brennan Johnson.
This summer, there is one big ticket player whose agents Spurs have been in regular contact with since February to try and work on a potential deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have been in contact with the agents of Eberechi Eze since February.
The Crystal Palace playmaker is currently enjoying his summer break following his efforts with England in the Euros this summer.
But he is one of the most in-demand attackers in the Premier League in the transfer market with a number of clubs showing their interest.
However, Spurs are right up there with their interest with Eze believed to be really considering a move to Tottenham.
Tottenham face Manchester City competition for Eberechi Eze
Although Spurs are keen, it seems there may well be a major hurdle in their way if they are to land the ‘incredible‘ Eze over the coming weeks.
One of the possible issues is the £60m release clause in Eze’s Palace contract which is said to be heavily favoured to his current club in terms of payment structure.
However, there is another issue and that comes in the shape of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
It has been claimed if Eze would prioritise a move to Manchester City if they were to make their interest concrete.
Spurs have clearly put in the groundwork with the player’s camp, it may now be a waiting game for him to come back from his holiday to make a decision on his future.
