Tottenham are moving on from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Fabrizio Romano has been talking about why the deal has come about.
The Danish midfielder has been linked with a move away from Spurs all summer and looks to have finally got his move.
Marseille are the club that have won the race for the Dane, after Tottenham previously admitted a number of clubs wanted to sign Hojbjerg.
Indeed, Atletico Madrid were thought to be closest to landing Hojbjerg just a week or so ago.
For Spurs, getting some money into the club will be seen as key as Ange Postecoglou looks to keep adding to his squad.
And discussing the deal, Fabrizio Romano has shared just why Tottenham decided to pull the trigger now.

Reason for Tottenham letting Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leave revealed
Speaking on his YouTube channel about how Hojbjerg to Marseille has come about, Romano revealed that in the end, it all came down to no new contract being agreed.
“Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is joining Marseille from Tottenham Hotspur, it is a ‘here we go’,” Romano said.
“It is a huge signing and he will complete for a fee of around £14m plus add-ons. Hojbjerg has said yes and so we wait for the contract to be signed the formal steps but the agreement is done, it’s a massive one for Longoria and Robert de Zerbi, who has been in contact in recent days to agree on terms.
“Hojbjerg is ready to accept and why did Tottenham accept? Because he had one year left on his contract and he was not going to renew so Tottenham preferred to sell now instead of losing him on a free next summer.”
It’s believed Tottenham will try and replace Hojbjerg with at least one new midfielder, while multiple signings haven’t been ruled out.
Tottenham have also signed Archie Gray who can play in the middle, albeit he excelled as a right-back for Leeds last season in the main.
