German journalist Christian Falk has now shared what he knows about the situation.
He has revealed that Real Madrid’s interest in the Liverpool defender is getting concrete, and there has already been some contact between the two parties.
Falk’s biggest revelation, however, is that Alexander-Arnold is ‘interested’ in a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
The journalist tweeted: “Real Madrid is getting concrete with Trent Alexander-Arnold (25). Arnold has a contract till 2025, no contract extension at Liverpool yet.
“The player is interested, there is contact since (a) month.”

What should Liverpool do?
Liverpool only have themselves to blame for allowing Alexander-Arnold to enter the final year of his contract. It is such a risky position to be in.
Alexander-Arnold, hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Conor Bradley on Sky Sports (broadcast on January 21 2024, 6:40 pm), has the ability to play for some of the biggest clubs in the world.
It is no surprise at all that Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti are interested in the Englishman, but this is really concerning if you are a Liverpool supporter.
The Reds now have a decision to make. They need to sit down with Alexander-Arnold and discuss an extension this summer.
