Newcastle United have sanctioned the sale of highly-rated teenager Yankuba Minteh to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Magpies have endured a pretty hectic few days as they needed to make sales before the end of June – when the financial year ends – to comply with Profit and Sustainability regulations.
Anthony Gordon had been rumoured to depart but reports suggesting he was seriously considered to be sold are thought to be wide of the mark.
Ultimately it was Minteh and Elliot Anderson who departed and here’s how Eddie Howe reacted to the news of the former’s sale.

Eddie Howe ‘very disappointed’ Yankuba Minteh was sold
According to GiveMeSport, Eddie Howe has been left ‘very disappointed’ by the sale of Yankuba Minteh to Brighton.
The Newcastle boss had big plans for the 19-year-old winger and had devised a set-up for him to become one of the main men on Tyneside.
Clearly, Howe had been really impressed by his performances for Feyenoord last term, where he netted 11 times whilst laying on six assists under the stewardship of Arne Slot – the now Liverpool manager.
Minteh was in line to receive a first-team number, too, only amplifying how much belief Howe had in his ability.
The former Bournemouth boss is certainly frustrated but he will be well aware that had it not been Minteh, Gordon would’ve likely been the one leaving St James’ Park.
Newcastle can now look to build
It seems like Newcastle have avoided a PSR saga and now they can start to add players to their ranks as they look to return to Europe.
Nottingham Forest’s playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked today, so perhaps they might formalise their interest with a bid in the coming weeks.
Forest’s Anthony Elanga is also a player who’s been mooted as a target.
