A director for a Champions League club says Arsenal are trying to get rid of a very highly rated attacker this summer.
Mikel Arteta will be keeping close tabs on a number of players at Euro 2024 as he looks to bolster his ranks ahead of the fast-approaching season.
Though, he’ll also be deciding which players to offload as all clubs will have to trade to comply with Profit and Sustainability regulations.
With that said, a director says Arsenal are actively trying to sell an attacker who they want to buy.
Director says Arsenal want to sell Mika Biereth
Arsenal’s Mika Biereth, 21, spent the second half of last season on loan at SK Sturm Graz, where he netted nine times whilst laying on four assists in 22 appearances.
His fine form has enticed the Austrian champions to open talks with Arsenal about resigning him and club director Andreas Schicker believes they’re eager to sell him.
“Mika is in the last year of his contract and the club wants to sell him,” Schicker said, via Kronen Zeitung.
“Now we have to find a solution with Arsenal.”
How much Arsenal are asking for remains to be seen but given he’s coming off the back of a 15-goal season with SK Sturm Graz and Motherwell, it’s surely likely to be around the £10m mark.
Arsenal also looking to offload Albert Sambi Lokonga
Biereth isn’t the only Arsenal player who could depart imminently as they could also sanction the sale of Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Sevilla are convinced that they’re going to sign the Belgian midfielder this summer following his productive season with Luton Town.
Again, a fee has not yet been confirmed but the cogs are certainly turning in North London as they wind up towards making their first signing of the summer.
