Arsenal may well look at strengthening their ranks in January, with the transfer window now on the horizon.
The Gunners haven’t done badly so far this season, although they have been hampered by a spate of injuries to key players.
With that in mind, Mikel Arteta could well look at bringing in some reinforcements to increase Arsenal’s strength in depth.
However, Arsenal will also have to be mindful of losing players in the January transfer window amid clubs circling.
According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Besiktas are in talks with a Gunners player and are apparently close to convincing him of a move.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho wanted by Besiktas
The player in question is Jorginho, who has been a solid squad option for Arsenal since his move from Chelsea in 2023.
Jorginho has struggled for minutes this season, despite the Gunners having had personnel issues in midfield.
According to Sabah, Besiktas have already started their attempts to sign the veteran Arsenal midfielder, who Declan Rice has called “world-class”.
Indeed, the 16-time Turkish champions are apparently close to convincing Jorginho over a possible transfer and are looking to sign him as a free agent.
Besiktas want to bring in the Arsenal man as early as January, but it’s apparently likelier that they will have to wait until the summer window.
Jorginho’s contract expires at the end of the season, but the Gunners have the option to extend his deal until 2026.
What Fabrizio Romano has said about Jorginho’s Arsenal future
A month ago, Fabrizio Romano spoke about the Italy international’s future amid links with a move away in 2025.
According to the transfer insider, Jorginho is only focused on the season ahead with Arsenal.
“Some other Arsenal rumours have been circulating involving Jorginho,” he said.
“However, I can say that the situation is that Jorginho is only thinking about this season.
“Jorginho’s full focus is on present, on Arsenal, not on moving into coaching and not on making the move to Saudi.”
That said, it remains to be seen whether Jorginho’s lack of game time this season – or perhaps uncertainty over his future – could turn his head in the coming weeks or months.
