West Ham United have already taken a strong step forward in securing their second signing of this summer’s window.
Julen Lopetegui has now had a few weeks to settle into his new home at the London Stadium after replacing David Moyes at West Ham.
And with that, a fresh start is promised in east London as the Hammers look to improve on their ninth-placed finish last season.
West Ham enjoyed a solid run in the Europa League, but found themselves slipping up considerably at times in the Premier League campaign.
New additions are going to be seeked as Lopetegui looks to put his stamp on the squad which he has inherited.
The Hammers have already secured the signing of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme this summer, now talks have been held over another possible summer addition.

West Ham have now spoken to agents of Dutch left-back
Some of the results last season were clearly not good enough as the fans were left frustrated by heavy defeats to the likes of Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
Improvements are, therefore, going to be targeted over the coming months to bolster the squad which Lopetegui has taken on.
Despite finishing in the top half, the Hammers recorded the fourth-worst defensive record last season having conceded a whopping 74 goals.
Relegated Burnley only conceded four more than that, but defensive aid could be on its way.

According to Caught Offside, West Ham have now met with the agent of Fenerbahce left-back Jayden Oosterwolde.
The Hammers are not the only side who are showing an interest in the 23-year-old this summer with both Everton and Napoli credited in the report.
Although the Turkish giants are said not to have any plans to sell their left-back this summer, a bid in the region of €25m-€30m (£21.1m-£25.3m) could seriously tempt them.
Jayden Oosterwolde could provide Julen Lopetegui strong addition
Playing with Emerson Palmieri at left-back, there is certainly some room for upgrade over the summer and West Ham could potentially find that in Oosterwolde.
The 23-year-old has become a regular for Fenerbahce having played 27 times in the league alone last season where he has caught the eye.

However, Oosterwolde now has the opportunity to work under one of the game’s greatest-ever managers in Jose Mourinho which could well prove a real factor to consider for the 23-year-old.
