Newcastle United could still sign a top level player despite the transfer window in England slamming shut.
The free agent market is being considered by a number of clubs in the Premier League and Newcastle are thought to be one of them.
Even with the summer window shut, clubs can still sign free agents and The Magpies are eyeing one who’s just left one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Newcastle target Adrien Rabiot set to reject Saudi Pro League offer
TBR reported earlier this week that Newcastle are ready to press ahead with their interest in signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has just taken to X and confirmed that Rabiot is set to reject proposals from the Saudi Pro League to prioritise a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Newcastle face stiff competition for the 29-year-old’s signature, as Manchester United and Liverpool are also keen on him.
Though, perhaps the draw of starting week in and week out at St James’ Park could convince him to join over the aforementioned pair.
Adrien Rabiot profile
Rabiot, who’s been labelled ‘world class’ per Football Italia, is a box-to-box midfielder who’s capable of adding goals and assists.
The Frenchman provided eight goal involvements for Juventus last season which followed 17 the previous campaign.
According to FBref data, Rabiot is of a similar profile to Aston Villa’s John McGinn.
