The transfer window may have shut in England, but Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with players who are currently free agents.
For instance, there have been links between Spurs and France international Adrien Rabiot, who departed Juventus in the summer.
More recently, Dutch icon Dick Advocaat suggested that Tottenham would be a good destination for Memphis Depay.
The former Manchester United man impressed at Euro 2024 with some ‘world-class’ performances for the Netherlands.
Advocaat told Dutch show Vandaag Inside Oranje this summer: “If Memphis just goes to a good club, and we’re not talking about Liverpool, then he’s just an excellent striker.”
He was then specifically asked to name a club to which he replied: “Spurs.”
Now, Fabrizio Romano has reported where Depay will be continuing his club career.

According to Romano’s latest update on X, Depay is now set to head to Brazil to continue his career.
The formalities are being completed so the Dutchman can link up with Corinthians on a two-year contract, said the transfer insider.
Spurs previously linked with Depay but ship seems to have sailed
Tottenham conducted some good transfer business over the summer and, if they really were going to go for anyone else, a defender was probably the likeliest position.
Spurs are fairly well stocked in attack, and they did break their transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke, so their front line was no longer a priority come deadline day.
Admittedly, Tottenham were linked with Depay a couple of years ago, but it looks as though that ship has sailed.
