Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on deadline day in one of the most dramatic late deals the Gunners have ever done.

Sterling has arrived on loan at the Emirates for the season, and the excitement is palpable around this deal.

Arsenal are getting a multi-time Premier League winner who has proven himself at this level for years.

This could be the signing that pushes Arsenal to the league title.

However, before Sterling thinks about winning the league for Arsenal, he needs to figure out how to get into the team.

Indeed, that left flank is currently occupied by both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, and they won’t be giving up their spots easily.

In fact, there’s reason to believe that Trossard will actually step up his game now that Sterling is through the door.

Leandro Trossard could improve

Leandro Trossard is a remarkable footballer in that he always seems to find another level to go to when he has to.

Trossard is a real battler when it comes to keeping his spot in any team, and he’s always ready to raise his levels.

At Brighton, he hit his best form after Kaoru Mitoma arrived at the club and threatened his starting spot, and at Arsenal, he’s always produced his best performances when his place in the team has been threatened my Martinelli.

Trossard is clearly a player who is at his best when he has a point to prove, and the arrival of Sterling could spur him on to hit that next level.

Arsenal’s wide options are incredible

Trossard could be spurred on by Sterling’s arrival, and it has to be said that Arsenal’s wide options are nothing short of incredible at the moment.

Sterling, Trossard, Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are perhaps the best quartet of wingers the Premier League has ever seen, and if Mikel Arteta can find a way to utilse these players in tandem harmoniously, the Gunners will have a massive chance of winning the Premier League title.

It’s certainly an exciting time to be an Arsenal fan.
