Liverpool have been quiet during the summer transfer window and are yet to make a signing.
The Reds failed in a bid to sign Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi after he rejected the chance to make the switch to Anfield.
Now, they have turned their attention to Juventus wide player Federico Chiesa ahead of deadline day on Friday.
Barcelona are also keen on signing Chiesa and now Sky Sports have provided the latest update on his future.

Liverpool to make contact for Federico Chiesa today
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas reports that Liverpool are expected to formalise their interest in Chiesa today.
“Liverpool are expected to make formal contact with Juventus over a deal for Federico Chiesa today,” Thomas said.
“On Monday, Sky Sports News reported they had been making inquiries about the Italy winger, who can leave Juve.
“And it is now understood Liverpool are becoming increasingly encouraged they can land his signature before Friday’s deadline.
“Barcelona are also interested but are struggling to free up the margin in their wage bill to be able to register him.
“However, it is interest from Saudi Arabia that is believed to have posed the biggest competition to Liverpool so far.
“Juventus value Chiesa at just £12.6m (€15m) given he has less than a year remaining on his contract.
“Liverpool are ready to give him a four-year contract if they can strike an agreement with Juventus.”
Federico Chiesa statistics
Chiesa enjoyed a productive season for Juventus last term, netting 10 times whilst laying on three assists across all competitions.
The 26-year-old featured in all four of Italy’s Euro 2024 games earlier this summer playing as a right-winger.
It’ll be interesting to see where he lines up for Arne Slot, should he complete a switch to Merseyside.
