Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the latter stages of the summer transfer window as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his squad.

Spurs have been relatively quiet in the market to date, making just two new signings in Archie Gray and Yang Min-hyuk, the latter expected to join next yeat.

However, it looks as though Tottenham could be on the brink of making a third signing of the summer, and this will be a particularly significant one.

Fabrizio Romano has taken to YouTube with an update on said player, revealing that the move is expected to be completed over the weekend.

Dominic Solanke now set for Tottenham

The player in question is Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, who is now about to join Tottenham.

Romano previously reported that the Lilywhites and the Cherries have agreed a deal worth £65million in total, which includes add-ons.

The transfer insider elaborated on the ins and outs of the deal, saying: “From what I’m hearing, it’s something around £57million plus add-ons.

“The structure of this add-on is particular, so one day we will touch about that.

“But Dominic Solanke is already set to undergo medical test tonight (Friday), the first part for Tottenham.

“And then over the weekend everything will be completed for Dominic Solanke to sign a six-year deal at Spurs.

“So everything is okay between Solanke and Tottenham, he really wanted the move, he believes this is the perfect opportunity for him.

“Also big moment for Tottenham because he’s a record fee for them, and for Bournemouth, record sale.”

On Saturday morning, Romano then posted another big update on the Solanke to Spurs transfer, namely that the player has completed his medical and signed his contract.

Tottenham sign ‘very complete’ forward

And so it looks like Postecoglou has now got his man, an experienced Premier League striker whose style of play looks perfect for Angeball.

“Everyone focuses on the goals he scores,” Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola said of Solanke on Friday. “He scores a big percentage of our goals.

“But he gives us much more than goals. He is very complete. He helps us in all the phases of the game. He would be a big miss, obviously.”

The all-important official announcement should be imminent now.
