Arsenal are now preparing an offer for an exciting winger on the continent.
The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season, finishing two points adrift of title winners Manchester City.
Now, the aim will be to go one better and to do that, Mikel Arteta will need to be backed in the summer transfer window.
Riccardo Calafiori has already been added to the squad and Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino is expected to follow him.
That said, Arsenal are trying to make a Turkish wide player their third signing of the window.

Arsenal prepare bid for Baris Alper Yilmaz
Arsenal were credited with an interest in Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz earlier in the window.
They’re now about to formalise their interest with a £17.1m offer, according to Turkish outlet Sok Gazetesi.
The North Londoners recently held talks with Yilmaz’s agent and it appears those discussions were positive.
It was previously noted that the Turkish champions would only consider bids in the region of £25m, so it remains to be seen if the offer will be accepted.
Arsenal aren’t alone in their pursuit of the ‘special’ (per Rousing The Kop) Yilmaz.
Premier League clubs also considering Baris Alper Yilmaz
TBR reported last month that Liverpool are also working on a deal to sign Yilmaz, who has drawn comparisons to Gareth Bale, according to GS Gazete.
West Ham United are also said to be in talks to sign the Turkey international, so evidently competition is rife for his signature.
In other news, £30m Arsenal player told not to leave the Emirates just yet as he could get chance.
