Manchester United are making their plans to continue spending in the transfer market and could end up scuppering Liverpool’s move for one potential signing.
The Red Devils have already beaten Liverpool to the signing of Leny Yoro while they’ve also added Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee to the ranks as well.
For Erik ten Hag, getting new players was seen as key this summer and so far, he does seem to be getting his wish.
Another player could soon be signed as well, as reports suggested United are in pole position to land full-back Noussair Mazraoui as well.
However, while Mazraoui is a target, United are also making plans B and C and one of those plans involves them looking at landing a full-back who very much fancies a move to Liverpool.
Manchester United have eyes on Liverpool-linked Lutsharel Geertruida
According to a report from CaughtOffside, United have got Geertruida on their list of potential signings if a deal for Mazraoui goes south.
Geertruida worked with Arne Slot at Feyenoord last season and was hugely successful.

Due to that, reports have linked Liverpool with a move for Geertruida, with suggestions the player himself is very much open to a reuinion with Slot.
Of course, Liverpool haven’t pulled the trigger on any deal for Geertruida just yet and so it remains to be seen if they’d act if United did swoop.
For Man United, there’s also Denzel Dumfries on their list of potential signings as well.
The Dutchman has long been admired by Old Trafford higher-ups and Erik ten Hag also knows the player well.
As for Geertruida, any deal is likely to cost Liverpool or United around the £25m mark.
And with interest now apparently there from the United end, it would make sense for Liverpool to at least sound out the move if they do fancy the Ajax Feyenoord ace.
