West Ham United are reportedly aiming to offload Danny Ings this summer but could face a potential stumbling block.
Danny Ings was snapped up by former boss David Moyes back in January last year as he arrived from Aston Villa for a £15 million fee.
It’s fair to say that after a difficult spell in the Midlands, things haven’t exactly gone according to plan for the striker in east London either.
Ings has netted just four times in 52 appearances for the Hammers and has largely played a backup role to Michail Antonio or Jarrod Bowen.
As a result, Julen Lopetegui is aiming to bolster his forward line and talkSPORT reports that West Ham want to replace Ings with a striker who enjoyed a prolific season last time out.

West Ham want to replace Ings with Alexander Sorloth
Despite a willingness to offload Ings, talkSPORT claims moving the striker on would be no easy task for West Ham.
This is down to the Englishman’s £120,000-a-week salary, as well as desire to stay and fight for his place in Lopetegui’s side.
However, should West Ham offload Ings and clear space on their wage bill, Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth is a possible option.

Sorloth’s 2023/24 statistics
Barring Bowen’s exceptional performances, West Ham lacked a prolific option to play through the middle last term.
Antonio managed just six Premier League goals last season while Ings chipped in with just one league goal.
Snapping up Sorloth could certainly go a long way to providing extra firepower in the final third after the Norwegian finished the last season with 26 goals to his name.
The 28-year-old endured an underwhelming spell at Crystal Palace in 2019 where he netted just once in 20 appearances.
But Sorloth has improved dramatically over the past couple of years in Spain and would represent an intriguing option for the Hammers should they move Ings on.
