Aston Villa have not been messing about this summer so far when it comes to strengthening their squad.
With Unai Emery guiding them to the Champions League last season, the race has been on this summer to ensure the squad is suitably strengthened in time for the new campaign.
That work has been well underway already with Villa selling the likes of Douglas Luiz and in return making moves to sign Ian Maatsen and Samuel Illing-Junior, among others.
However, it doesn’t look like Villa are slowing down either when it comes to looking for new additions.
And according to reports from Portugal, Villa want to bring in a striker on loan who is already familiar with the Premier League.
Aston Villa want Joao Felix on loan as Atletico look for £50m fee
According to a report from Record, Felix is taking some time to assess his options as he looks to make a move away from Atletico this summer.
One of the clubs keen on signing him are Aston Villa.
It’s claimed that Villa want to take Felix on loan as they look to do the best deal possible at their end, while over in Spain, Atletico are looking for close to £50m to sell their man.
Of course, the Spanish side paid more than £100m to sign Felix in the first place and it’s little surprise to see them wanting something in return.
Felix has previously played in the Premier League in what was an underwhelming loan spell with Chelsea.
However, previous reports have suggested Unai Emery is pushing Villa to sign Felix as he feels he can get the best out of him.
The ‘world-class‘ Felix recently exited the Euros after missing his penalty against France for Portugal.
He spent last season on loan with Barcelona but there is little sign of the Catalan club making a permanent move for the 24-year-old forward.
