According to a recent report, Liverpool may be in pole position to land a highly sought-after Euro 2024 player this summer.
Arne Slot’s era has begun and he will be eager to make his own imprint on the Liverpool squad this summer transfer window.
Anthony Gordon had been one rumoured target but it looks as though he’ll be staying at Newcastle United after the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson – keeping them in line with Profit and Sustainability regulations.
That said, he’ll have to move on to other targets and there is a fresh update emerging that will please supporters.

Liverpool may be in pole position to sign Joshua Kimmich
According to Sport, Liverpool may have taken the lead to sign Germany and Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, who has been labelled as ‘world class’.
The 29-year-old is out of contract next summer and isn’t expected to renew his deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
Kimmich is currently away with Germany at the European Championships and has played every minute of the opening four games, helping them to reach the last eight of the tournament.
Other Premier League sides are also taking a keen interest in the 90-cap international, with Arsenal among those.
Barcelona could miss out as they won’t be able to match the personal terms clubs offer in England.
Bayern Munich will sell Joshua Kimmich for £25.4m
With Kimmich out of contract next summer, Bayern Munich will have to sell him this window to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
As such, any forthcoming suitor is expected to land him for a bargain fee, with Bayern set to demand £25.4m for his signature.
Kimmich would be the ideal acquisition for Arne Slot, who would likely utilise him in midfield or even as a right-back, allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to push on into midfield.
