Exclusive: Forest, Newcastle and Everton eyeing 'explosive' Brazilian winger likened to Franck Ribery

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Everton are all been eyeing Marseille star Luis Henrique.

Nottingham Forest are flying this season and will fancy their chances of sealing Champions League qualification, while Newcastle are just three points off the top four.

Meanwhile, Everton have experienced an upturn in form under David Moyes and will be pushing for a top-half finish ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

All three teams have exciting campaigns ahead of them and, as such, will be looking to strengthen their squads in the summer.

Henrique, who has been described as one of Brazil’s brightest forwards, may just be the signing that can elevate one of them to the next level.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can reveal that a number of Premier League clubs are taking a keen interest in the form of Marseille’s Brazilian star Luis Henrique.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Roberto De Zerbi this term.

Henrique arrived from Botafogo in 2020 but had an up-down time in the south of France and even spent time back on loan in Brazil.

But the last 18 months have seen Henrique thrive and he has been one of the star performers for De Zerbi.

Henrique plays on either flank, normally the right, as either a winger or wing-back and is now being tipped for a Brazil call-up.

TBR Football can now reveal that Henrique progress has caught the attention of a number of clubs.

We can reveal that Nottingham Forest, Newcastle and Everton are amongst the sides to have watched him in recent weeks.

What Luis Henrique could bring to the Premier League

Henrique is a 23-year-old winger who plies his trade for Ligue 1 side Marseille and can play on both flanks as well as at No. 10.

He has made 24 appearances for Marseille this season, registering an impressive nine goals and six assists in all competitions.

Henrique’s goal contribution tally puts him among the top five most decisive Brazilians in Europe’s top five leagues.

He is currently below Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, and Rodrygo, but above the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Joao Pedro.

The Guardian has described Henrique as “sensational” and described him as “one of Brazil’s brightest forwards”.

Meanwhile, Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig has likened the “explosive winger” to Franck Ribery.
