Harry Kane has a release clause in his Bayern Munich contract which could put Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur on red alert.

Manchester United have long been linked with Kane whilst an emotional return to Tottenham always looks like a possibility in the latter stages of his career.

A Premier League return now looks very much within reach with clubs being made aware of the details of a release clause in his contract with the Bavarians.

But right now, Kane’s full focus will still be on Munich as he bids to win his first piece of major silverware with the German giants.

Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich release clause

Harry Kane has a £54 million release clause for the summer of 2026 in his current contract with Bayern Munich, according to BILD reporter Christian Falk.

The England international actually had a £66 million release clause active last summer, however, no clubs opted to trigger it or he either told them no.

Next summer, it does not appear as though there will be a clause allowing him to leave, but in 2026, he will be available for £54m.

Bayern may look to renew his deal at some stage with his current contract due to run until 2027.

Would Harry Kane be interested in Tottenham or Manchester United?

It feels likely that Kane will one day return to the Premier League to continue in search of Alan Shearer’s all-time top scorer record.

The 31-year-old is currently second overall with 213 goals in total which puts him 47 behind the Newcastle United legend’s record.

United and Spurs would surely be keen on a deal to bring Kane back to England, although the summer of 2026 remains a long time away yet and there are a lot of variables which could change up until then.

The two Premier League giants are currently well underperforming and would need to prove to Kane their ambition to improve before he would consider a move to either club.
