Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have become Premier League title contenders again and in the last two seasons, they have pushed Manchester City to the brink in the race to become the champions of England.
Gone are the days where it seemed unlikely that Arsenal would be able to go toe-to-toe with City both on and off the pitch.

Once again, Manchester City and Arsenal have locked horns in a race to sign the same player as both clubs are in the pursuit of Rosenborg wonderkid Sverre Nypan.
David Ornstein revealed Nypan is keen on a move to Arsenal.
Arsenal are huge admirers of Nypan as well and based on current circumstances, a move to London could over the blue side of Manchester could be considered more appealing as Mikel Arteta’s side are placed second while Pep Guardiola’s men are in fourth place in the league.

However, sources informed TBR Football that Nypan is set to hold talks with Manchester City.
The 18-year-old has a long list of suitors, with Manchester United interested in Nypan’s signature as well.
While Arsenal are confident of signing Nypan, valued at £10 million by Rosenborg was “in attendance” at the Etihad Stadium to witness Manchester City beat Chelsea 3-1 in their latest outing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist went on to report that the Norwegian visited Manchester on Friday as he was presented with the project while a loan move to Girona was also discussed.

The teenager is one of the most gifted up-and-coming talents in Europe, capable of playing as a number eight, as an attacking midfielder and as a striker as well — with a whole host of clubs hoping to develop him into a superstar.
Norway have become a hotbed of young talent, producing big name like Haaland, Martin Odegaard, Oscar Bobb, Antonio Nusa and Nypan over the years.

Odegaard is persuading Nypan to join Arsenal over Manchester United, which goes to show how incredible a prospect he is.
The report reiterated that Mikel Arteta’s side were the frontrunners in the race to secure the youngster’s services, who has eight goals and seven assists in the Eliteserien this season.

But Odegaard might have a tall task on his hands as Manchester City have ramped up their interest to sign Nypan.
Savinho’s rise indicates that the prospect of heading to one of City’s sister clubs in Girona is an attractive one for any young player as they get regular first-team football with a chance to play under Pep Guardiola one day.
Unlike in the Brazilian winger’s case, Manchester City could simply send Nypan on loan and if he does stand out in Spain, they would not have to pay a king’s ransom to sign him.
However, the advantage Arsenal could have in the battle to sign the highly-touted technician is that so far, it seems like their plan is to offer him a berth in the first-team straightaway.
It will be interesting to see which project ends up being the one that Nypan believes is best-suited for his development.
Manchester City’s track record of success is there for all to see but at Arsenal, the Trondheim-born prospect could be part of a side that have the potential to dominate English and European football in the future.
