Tottenham’s injury crisis has been the stuff of nightmares this season but they could yet make a move before the end of January to ease some of their woes in the midfield area.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are very much struggling near the bottom three and they need to start picking up results and quickly.

So far in January, Spurs have been quiet in the window with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky the only addition.

Tottenham are interested in Sheffield United’s Ryan One, but that would be a signing for the future rather than the here and now.

However, Tottenham could yet make a move for another young player who could slot straight in.

Tottenham in talks to sign Tyler Dibling

Tyler Dibling is one of the hottest commodities in Europe right now after an impressive season with Southampton despite their struggles.

And after Spurs and Chelsea were told it would take £55m to land Dibling, Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed Tottenham are in talks with his management over a deal.

Taking to X to share the news, Plettenberg revealed Spurs are in discussions for Dibling but they face competition from RB Leipzig, who are apparently desperate to sign the midfielder.

What Ivan Juric has said about Tyler Dibling at Southampton

There is absolutely no doubt that Tyler Dibling is a Premier League star in the making and at just 18, he very much has the world at his feet right now.

The fact he was picked so regularly by Russell Martin and now Ivan Juric speaks volumes about his ability.

Indeed, Juric has praised Dibling and suggested he remain at the Saints for now for his development.

“I think in this moment, he’s better when he plays more forward because he doesn’t have to do too much defensive work. He’s ready to score, to go one against one. For now, it’s okay for him,” Juric said after playing Dibling up front in the FA Cup.

“Absolutely,” he added on Dibling staying. “Because I think he needs to play to get better, to improve and I think for him it’s best to stay here, of course.”

Still, with Southampton struggling and a potential £55m windfall coming their way, Dibling may well be in a new shirt come the beginning of February.
