TBR Football can exclusively confirm that Brentford have beaten multiple Premier League clubs to the initial loan signing of Michael Kayode.

Brentford are currently in pursuit of reinforcements at right-back amid speculation linking Mads Roerslev with a move away.

Meanwhile, Kayode has been struggling for game time at Fiorentina under Raffaele Palladino in recent months.

TBR Football can reveal how much Brentford would pay for Kayode should they take up the option to sign him, and which other Premier League clubs have been in the race.

Brentford beat Everton, Fulham and others to Michael Kayode loan deal with £13.5m option to buy

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands Brentford have finalised an agreement with Fiorentina to sign Michael Kayode.

Kayode, the winner of Italy’s Golden Boy award last year presented to the country’s best young player, has agreed to move to West London.

He will move on-loan with Brentford holding an option worth £13.5million to make the move permanent.

TBR Football can also reveal that Brentford held off interest from a number of Premier League rivals.

These include Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton.

What Brentford can expect from Kayode

Brentford have been short of full-backs in recent weeks due to injury, although the situation is now improving.

Rico Henry is now back after an absence of almost 500 days, while Kristoffer Ajer is said to be back in training after six games out with an ankle injury.

Kayode, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, is an exciting talent who, at just 20 years of age, has his whole career ahead of him.

Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig has likened Kayode to Denzel Dumfries and deemed him a “complete full-back”.

Meanwhile, scouting outlet Breaking the Lines compared Kayode to Kyle Walker last year.

“Most of the time, Kayode’s positioning is intelligent, but when he jumps out too quickly, he can get caught in behind,” they wrote.

“Luckily, his top recovery pace and athleticism give him an extra tool up his sleeve to stop counters, similar to City right-back Kyle Walker.”
