Tottenham Hotspur have been left ‘very impressed’ by one Premier League striker whose form is earning him plenty of interest from top clubs.

The Lilywhites could well be in the market for a striker next summer despite Dominic Solanke proving to be a good fit under Ange Postecoglou. Solanke has had very little chance to rest and it is clear another number nine is required.

The North London club have now identified a potential target who has also attracted strong interest from Chelsea and now the two teams could go head to head.

Tottenham ‘very impressed’ by Liam Delap

Tottenham should not be discounted in the race to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, according to Ben Jacobs.

Spurs have been very impressed by the former Man City man and could join the race to land him next summer.

Delap has netted eight Premier League goals for an Ipswich side who have had a tough start to life back in the top flight.

Chelsea are understood to be the frontrunners to land him, however, there is also Ange Postecoglou’s side in the mix.

Jacobs told Last Word On Spurs: “Don’t discount Tottenham, they have been very impressed with Delap as everyone has been this season, it’s eight Premier League goals and don’t just look at his goals you look at his hold-up play, the physicality, the hard work he does for his team off the ball, the intelligence and the monster mentality we know Ange Postecoglou likes.

“So keep an eye on Delap, there will be several Premier League and Europe clubs in the mix. Chelsea are the early front runners but Tottenham are not to be discounted.”

Tottenham focusing on a different forward in January

Tottenham are going to make a very strong push to sign Randal Kolo Muani in January and the striker is top of their list of targets, Jacobs also claimed on the Last Word On Spurs.

The North London club are intent on making the deal happen with Daniel Levy set to work with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to find an agreement.

The French champions are hoping that a deal will be done on a loan with an obligation-to-buy basis.
