Chelsea’s mantra of signing some of the young players in the world looks set to continue under Todd Boehly as the Blues owner looks to beat a host of European clubs to another young defender.
Chelsea have made a habit of signing expensive young players to fill the squad in the Boehly era and while more some experienced heads like Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez and Robert Sanchez have all arrived, the focus has been on youth.
The likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer are big money signings from Boehly’s and Clearlake Capital’s BlueCo holdings.
With the January window around the corner, all eyes are on whether or not Chelsea will go big again and look to bring in more players.
And according to TBR Football sources, young defender Vince Osuji is a player who may well end up at Chelsea.

Chelsea and Strasbourg could be destinations for Vince Osuji
Amid reports from Voetbal Niews that mention the interest in Osuji from Chelsea, TBR sources can now confirm that Osuji is indeed on the club’s radar.
However, while Chelsea do like him, it remains unclear whether or not he will be signed for Chelsea right now or instead, given to fellow BlueCo club, Strasbourg.
TBR understands that the talented 18-year-old is very much a player that BlueCo would like to sign but for now, there remains indecision over just where he’d sit if brought in during the January window.
Osuji also has interest from Belgium, with Club Brugge keen on the Nigerian.
Who is Vince Osuji?
Still just 18, Vince Osuji is yet another young talent emerging over in Europe after originally starting his path in Africa.
Now in Sweden with Kalmar, Osuji is attracting admiring glances from some of Europe’s best and Chelsea are just one of the clubs keen on him.
Osuji is a central defender by trade and there was even suggestions back in the summer that he was already catching the eye of European scouts just a few games into his career in Sweden.
Now, it looks like the battle is on to sign him but with Chelsea and BlueCo involved, it looks like Osuji might well get a big move ahead of time.
