Report: Tottenham now plotting move for £25m attacker who Mauricio Pochettino also wanted at N17

Tottenham Hotspur have had a bright season so far and could well look to the January market to bolster their ranks further.

It’s not been plain sailing for Spurs, but it’s clear that, under Ange Postecoglou, things are well and truly taking shape.

Now, according to a report from GiveMeSport, Tottenham have been regularly monitoring a player that Arsenal considered signing in summer.

Spurs could potentially launch a move for said player – who used to be on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar at N17 – in January as competition for Brennan Johnson.

Tottenham plotting move for Andreas Skov Olsen

The player in question is Andreas Skov Olsen, who has been impressing for Belgian outfit Club Brugge in recent years.

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham are making regular checks on the Denmark international ahead of potentially testing Club Brugge’s resolve with a formal offer.

Postecoglou has reportedly pinpointed the arrival of a fresh wide option as a priority for 2025.

Skov Olsen’s age, experience and potential have resulted in him gaining support behind the scenes as a potential Tottenham recruit, added the report.

The 24-year-old is said to be valued at £25million and was looked at by Arsenal in the summer, while the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa remain interested.

Skov Olsen a long-time Tottenham target

Links between Tottenham and Skov Olsen actually go back to when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge at Spurs.

Back in May 2019, The Sun reported that Spurs led the chase for the winger, who was rated at £10million at the time.

Antonio Conte was also said to be interested in Skov Olsen as a player for Tottenham.

The Spurs target has been compared to Mohamed Salah and Arjen Robben by Danish journalist Klaus Egelund thanks to the way he likes to cut inside onto his favoured left foot.

With Skov Olsen’s Club Brugge contract entering its final 18 months, now is a good time for Tottenham to intensify their interest and potentially make a move.
