Report: Mikel Arteta is personally a big fan of £9m Bournemouth player, Arsenal could sign him

Arsenal have one of the most complete squads in the Premier League, but there are still a few gaps that need filling in.

Arsenal still need that clinical recognised number nine to take them to the next level, which is why the Gunners have been linked to Benjamin Sesko, while there’s also an issue on the wings.

Indeed, Bukayo Saka, quite simply, plays too much football.

Tony Adams has claimed that he doesn’t like the way Saka is used, while Ian Wright has admitted that he lives in fear of Saka getting an injury.

Raheem Sterling’s arrival in the summer alleviates this issue somewhat, but he’s only on loan, so in 12 months’ time, Arsenal may be back to the drawing board.

Luckily, the Gunners may have another plan in mind.

Arsenal interested in Antoine Semenyo

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are interested in signing Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

Mikel Arteta is said to personally be a fan of the player, and the Gunners apparently view the winger as a decent backup option for Saka.

Semenyo has started this season brilliantly for Bournemouth scoring three goals in seven games.

The 24-year-old cost Bournemouth just £9m when he signed from Bristol City, but The Cherries now value the attacker at €80m (£70m).

That is a hefty fee, and it’s currently said that Arsenal are unlikely to cough up that sort of cash for the player.

However, if Semenyo can keep up his good form, he will only further put himself in the shop window.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Semenyo this week, so there will be competition on this front.

Arsenal are also interested in Milos Kerkez

Interestingly, Semenyo isn’t the only Bournemouth player Arsenal are keen on. This report also states that the Gunners are interested inMilos Kerkez too.

The Hungarian left-back has also been impressive for Andoni Iraola’s side as of late, and Arsenal were also said to be looking at Kerkez in the summer.

Bournemouth also value Kerkez at that £70m mark, and that may put Arsenal off.

With Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney and Jakub Kiwior all capable of playing at left-back, it’s hard to make a case for Arsenal pushing to sign a player like Kerkez at this moment in time.

However, Mikel Arteta seemingly can’t get enough defensive reinforcements, so it wouldn’t be a massive shock if another full-back was targeted this summer, especially as Calafiori and Timber are arguably better-placed at centre-back and right-back respectively.
